An educator with ties to Colorado was forced out before beginning her new job as superintendent of schools in Omaha, Neb., after revelations that she sent sexually explicit e-mails from a work computer.

Nancy Sebring, who in 2011 was a finalist to head Boulder Valley School District, formerly worked in both the Douglas County and Poudre Valley school districts.

She had been superintendent in Des Moines, Iowa, since 2006, and was chosen in April to lead the Omaha district. Sebring had been scheduled to start in Omaha in July, but that plan unraveled after she resigned suddenly from her Des Moines job May 10.

Sebring and Des Moines officials later acknowledged that she had exchanged sexually explicit e-mails with a lover using the district’s computers.
