In a move that utterly screams “highbrow,” is teaming up with “Family Guy” for a product line that will hit stores this fall,

The band members are prominent guests on the animated show, having appeared three times. Kiss is also included in a back story in which Lois says she once dated bass player Gene Simmons before he became famous.

The deal includes goodies such as bobble heads, plush toys, vinyl figures, barware, fine art and social expressions — whatever that means.

Kiss has sold a hodgepodge of merch in the past, including comic books, wine, caskets, pinball machines and condoms. In the release, guitarist Paul Stanley says the band has already racked up more than $1 billion in sales over the last few decades. He said “[The show’s] track record and consistent success with its demographic makes this match-up ideal.”

Both the band and the show are known for their market saturation. “Family Guy” just finished its 10th season this May, and Kiss has been around since the early ’70s.

This is only the first in a series of merchandise collaborations which will be inspired by other famous guests featured on the show. –Kelsey Fowler
