Music: Jazz Aspen Snowmass heats up the high country
Today-July 7. One of the high country’s sturdiest annual soirées, the June installment of Jazz Aspen Snowmass returns this weekend with big names like Joe Cocker, k.d. lang (pictured) and the Siss Boom Bang and the Dukes of September Rhythm Revue featuring Donald Fagen, Michael McDonald and Boz Scaggs. Those marquee names are followed by smaller shows from Cyrille Aimee, Diego Figueiredo, Chris Botti and others in the coming weeks. New this year: Nightly pre-concert “lawn parties” on the Benedict Music Tent grounds today through Sunday, featuring more live, open-to-the-public music and refreshments.
