DENVER—Prosecutors have filed a motion to dismiss the case against the owner of a dog that bit a Denver television news anchor on air.
Vincent DiCroce with the City Attorney’s Office says the request was made after consulting with the victim, KUSA-TV anchor Kyle Dyer.
Dyer was bitten on the face by an 85-pound Argentine mastiff Feb. 8 during a segment with the dog’s owner and a firefighter who had rescued the pet from an icy pond. She received 90 stitches and underwent two operations, but no longer has difficulty talking.
KUSA-TV ( ) reports the dog’s owner originally faced municipal charges of a leash law violation and a “dog attack or bite” charge. The case was scheduled to go to trial June 27.
