Getting your player ready...
In about seven weeks from now, Denver’s most anticipated summer event – the Parade of Homes – returns. And, this year it promises to be bigger and better than ever.
The Parade is produced by The Home Builders Association of Metro Denver (HBA) and all the new homes are constructed by HBA member builders. The question most often asked is “Why?” Why does the HBA feature the Parade of Homes? There are many reasons that benefit Parade visitors as well as Parade builders. Our surveys have shown that most visitors attend the Parade seeking great ideas on everything from home design to paint colors, to architectural features, to garage floors, and the latest bells and whistles you can find in a new home. But, if you’re in the market for a new home, the Parade offers visitors lots of opportunities to see new neighborhoods, home styles, as well as to get great ideas. But here are some other benefits most people don’t realize: Value – new home construction costs are minimal when compared to a used home. Homes in today’s market are valued near the bottom in terms of price and will soon be going up. Warranty – new homes come with a warranty so maintenance costs are less than with a used home. Ability to customize and choose – you get to pick the builder you want, the lot, the style of homes, the neighborhood, the floor plan, the finishes, and all the options you want. Better construction practices – new homes are built better than ever with materials and components. They are healthier, safer, have better indoor air quality, are energy efficient and environmentally friendly. Energy Efficient – the science of building new homes makes them more efficient than used homes and that means lower utility bills. Materials are getting more high tech and include high-glazed windows, insulated frames, low and no-VOC (volatile organic compounds) paints and stains, renewable woods for floors, and more.
