Outdoor movies: “Wayne’s World” on the Rocks? Sha-wing!

Monday. Film on the Rocks may hit its 2012 apex with Monday night’s “extreme close-up” of “Wayne’s World.” The 1992 comedy is one of the best big-screen adaptations of a “Saturday Night Live” sketch — perhaps Mike Myers’ finest work. The beauty lies in its blend of high- and low-brow humor and in its storyline: two suburban Illinois slackers riding a wave of success that they never really longed for. Its one-liners stand the test of time, and you’re sure to hear more than a few murmuring through the crowd. Grab a blanket, a dozen doughnuts from Stan Mikita’s, down a few of Garth’s gigantic blue tiki drinks and, of course, belt out “Bohemian Rhapsody” on your drive there. At Red Rocks, 18300 W. Alameda Pkwy., Morrison. Tickets, $12-$35, at .
