A dive team recovered a body in the Chatfield Reservoir in an area where a man was reported missing on Saturday, authorities say.
The Douglas County coroner’s office will confirm whether the remains are those of the man who went missing, according to authorities.
Family members of the man called the Douglas County sheriff’s office on Saturday evening after the man went missing and a search for him was unsuccessful, said Sgt. Ron Hanavan of the Douglas County sheriff’s office.
The Littleton police department’s dive team searched for the man in the reservoir Saturday through Wednesday.
The body was found around 7 a.m. near Loop C of the reservoir, Hanavan said.
“We don’t think this was the result of foul play,” he said.
Family members were notified Wednesday that the body had been found and that authorities are trying to confirm the person’s identity.
