A woman was walking home early this morning when a man grabbed her from behind and sexually assaulted her, police say.

The man ran away when the victim began yelling, according to a Boulder police news release by spokeswoman Kim Kobel.

The woman was walking alone in the 1100 block of 9th Street at 3:29 a.m. when she was attacked from behind, the release says.

The woman fought the man off and began yelling, the release says.

She went to a nearby home and asked for help. A man was awakened by the woman’s screams, went outside and then called 911.

The victim could not describe her attacker, so police cannot provide a description.
