GREELEY, Colo.—Prosecutors say a gang member has been sentenced to 128 years in prison for shooting and wounding a man and a woman outside a Greeley house in March 2011.

The Weld County District Attorney’s Office says 31-year-old Nehemiah Chavez was convicted on charges including attempted second-degree murder, attempted manslaughter and being a habitual criminal.

He was convicted in February and sentenced on Monday.

Chavez was accused of following the man and woman to the house and then firing at the porch and at a nearby vehicle. Prosecutors say a child was inside the vehicle at the time but was unharmed.
