GREELEY, Colo.—A teacher who police say gave birth to a child fathered by a student has been formally charged with sex assault.
Prosecutors charged 44-year-old Rhonda Rae Eisenberg of Greeley on Friday with sex assault on a child by a person in a position of trust and sex assault on a child by a person in a position of trust with a pattern of abuse.
She is accused of having a sexual relationship with a teenage student who was living under her care in 2010, when she was teaching at Northridge High School. She is on paid leave.
Eisenberg is free on a $50,000 bond. The Greeley Tribune reports ( ) she and her lawyer declined to speak to reporters about the charges Friday.
