The Douglas County board of commissioners has selected the design-build team of Swinerton Builders and the Klipp architectural firm for the expansion of the Robert A. Christensen Justice Center Detention Facility in Castle Rock.
The project will include a new parking structure, new medical facility and renovation of the existing jail.
Design-build is a project delivery method in which the design and construction services are contracted by a single entity.
The design of the project begins immediately, and construction will begin next February, starting with the parking structure. The overall project is scheduled for completion in October 2014.
