FLORENCE, Colo.—Colorado Highway 67 between Florence and Wetmore is set to reopen Friday.
That stretch of the highway closed to traffic July 31 after heavy rain damaged a wooden bridge five miles north of Wetmore. The bridge sank about five feet below the surface of the road.
The Colorado Department of Transportation has built a two-lane paved detour around the bridge that should be ready for traffic Friday.
CDOT eventually plans to build a new bridge.
About 1,300 vehicles a day use the section of Colorado 67 that is reopening.
