According to documents released Wednesday, Dr. Stephen Stein — who authorities say reused needles on his dental patients for years — is also accused of using drugs and diverting prescription drugs from his patients to himself.
Stein has agreed to give up his professional license.
The Board of Dental Examiners accuses Stein of writing prescriptions for patients for such drugs as Vicodin and Vicoprofen, then telling them to bring the prescription drugs to the clinic. He would then divert the drugs for personal use.
The board claims Stein was impaired while practicing dentistry.
