
The average cost of a gallon of gasoline in Denver on Sunday was $3.49 a gallon, compared to a national average of $3.80 a gallon, according to , a gasoline website.
During the past week, the cost of a gallon of gasoline rose 3.6 cents per gallon in Denver and increased 1.49 cents a gallon nationally.
Prices in Denver on Sunday were 2.3 cents a gallon higher than the same day one year ago, and 7.1 cents a gallon higher than a month ago.
The national average stands 12.9 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.
“With the conclusion of the summer driving season, we can expect gasoline prices to go on a diet,’ said Senior Petroleum analyst Patrick DeHaan.
DeHaan said he did not expect much impact on gas prices from Hurricane Isaac.
