The Maytag Repair Man had some exciting business — other than fixing a dryer — to attend to in Greeley on Tuesday night.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Weld County Jerry Pawl Clubhouse was one of 11 clubs nationwide to win a $75,000 Maytag Dependable Club award from the company. The money will go toward the unit’s performing-arts program.
The repair man, played by Clay Jackson, spoke to the kids about being dependable and reliable and then, fittingly, watched the kids kick off their performing-arts program with a talent show.
The Jerry Pawl Clubhouse, which has a dance studio and a music studio, hopes to expand its programming with the money.
