PUEBLO, Colo.—The Pueblo City Council is trying to figure out how to cope with another $6.5 million budget shortfall next year.

The council has just finished cutting $5 million in city spending, chopping support to nonprofit groups and leaving dozens of city jobs vacant.

According to the Pueblo Chieftain ( ), the council was only able to balance this year’s budget by taking $1 million out of reserves.
