LONGMONT, Colo.—A 65-year-old woman convicted of robbing a Longmont bank is scheduled to be arraigned next month on an escape charge.
The Longmont Times-Call reports ( ) Datha Nation walked away from jail after nearly completing a jail and work release sentence for a felony theft conviction stemming from the bank robbery in June 2011. She is accused of trying to rob the bank two more times before she was spotted at a bus stop in Boulder.
Police say that when they approached her, she told them she was Nation’s twin.
Her public defender said Friday that Nation wants more time to speak with her sister about repaying more than $7,000 in restitution ordered in her original theft case before entering a plea in the new case. Her arraignment has been rescheduled for May 28.
