GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—The public has until May 29 to comment on a proposed land trade involving the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and Limited Brands Inc. founder Leslie Wexner.
The Daily Sentinel reports () the proposal would let Wexner acquire about 1,200 acres dividing his 4,700-acre Two Shoes Ranch near Carbondale, with the newly acquired land subject to conservation easements. The BLM would receive the 557-acre Sutey Ranch, plus water rights, and 112 acres with access to BLM roads and mountain bike trails.
In addition, the Lady Belle Ranch would pay Wexner to acquire 201 acres that the BLM will transfer in Eagle County.
Wexner plans to contribute $1.1 million to help the BLM manage its new property.
Pitkin County endorsed the swap after Wexner agreed to additional conservation and recreation concessions.
