In a one-two-punch, has announced the release of “The Infamous Mobb Deep” and a tour to go along with the new album. The legendary New York group is gearing up for the release of the double album in March,
The hefty album will include previously unreleased footage of the duo in the studio putting the finishing touches on their classic album “The Infamous.”
In support of their eighth studio album, Mobb Deep is set to play Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver for the second time on April 26.
The duo will play the States before heading to Europe for their first tour there in nine years. Mobb Deep is credited with both igniting and instigating some of hip-hop’s greatest beefs including Jay-Z, Nas and 50 Cent. Fans long touted their debut album “The Infamous” as one of the greatest hip-hop records to come out of the genre’s Golden Era. Tracks like “Shook Ones pt. 2” are still in heavy rotation even today.
Havoc and Prodigy have had a rough go at partnership over the years, with Prodigy spending over a year in prison for a gun charge and much internal squabbling. The two stopped through Denver about a year ago and gave a lackluster performance, despite the enthusiastic crowd. The latest packaging of “The Infamous” album will include 10 unreleased songs with verses from fellow New Yorkers, Raekwon and Ghostface, Prodigy
