The funeral for Jim Monaghan, a long-time Colorado political strategist, will be held at Denver’s Holy Ghost Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 22, at 9 a.m. A reception from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. will be held at the governor’s residence/carriage house on Logan Street between East Seventh and Eighth Avenues. Both the funeral and reception are open to the public.
Monaghan, who was born in South Bend, Ind., died at University of Colorado Hospital Wednesday after a brief illness. He was 66.
He is survived by his wife Lisa Gilford, his sons James E. Monaghan III and Brian F. Monaghan and four grandchildren.
