BOULDER, Colo.—Lafayette is considering a plan that would allow its elected leaders to attend council meetings and vote on ordinances without stepping into the council chambers.

The Lafayette City Council is taking up a resolution Tuesday that would amend the council’s handbook to allow such meetings.

According to the Boulder Daily Camera ( ), council members want to help elected officials with their busy schedules and demanding day jobs. It would also help them during family emergencies.

Opponents say it could be a valuable tool if it is not abused.
