LONGMONT — Authorities are investigating an apparent murder-suicide involving an elderly couple in Longmont.
The Longmont Times-Call reports 80-year-old Raymond Ecker told police dispatchers Thursday he had fatally shot his wife and then shot himself, intending to take his own life, because the two had been sick for a prolonged period of time.
Ecker’s wife, Judith Ecker, 72, was dead when officers arrived. Ecker died Friday night in a hospital.
