In an interview surrounding the 20 year anniversary of ‘s transformational album “In Utero”, bassist Krist Novoselic revealed his small but significant part in the new album, which is due out in 2014.
Novoselic he played bass in one song on the heavily anticipated album.
“I did a song for Modest Mouse, earlier this year for their new record,” he said. “It’s pretty edgy. I’ve got my big Gibson Bass and Rate distortion busing out a…. this bass riff.”
Novoselic’s relationship with the band is not new, having jammed with them in 2012.
Modest Mouse recently canceled its European summer tour to work on their new album, which will be the first since 2009’s “No One’s First and You’re Next.” The band has revealed a few of their new songs in live sets, including tracks titled “Shit in Your Cut,” “Be Brave” and “Sugar Boats”.
