Colorado small-business employment edged up 0.1 percent in September over August while nationwide small-business employment remained flat, according to the Intuit Small Business Employment and Revenue Index.
In August, small-business growth in Colorado also was 0.1 perent. June and July were flat, and in May month-over-month growth was 0.1 percent. April small-business employment growth also was 0.1 percent.
The Intuit Small Business Employment Index is a measure of employment for firms with fewer than 20 employees.
The report said that nationally small-business workers were paid 0.2 percent less in September and than in August and monthly time worked decreased by 0.2 percent.
Kansas, Utah and Arizona saw small gains in small-business employment in September, while New Mexico and Oklahoma saw small declines.
