LONGMONT, Colo.—A man selling exercise equipment prompted concerned 911 calls in Longmont Tuesday when he took to the skies to record an unusual ad—performing pull-ups while dangling from a hot air balloon.
Dan Vinson was wearing a safety harness while filming a video to promote a Kickstarter campaign for Monkii Bars, portable fitness equipment.
The portable lightweight bars can be used to create makeshift gymnastics-type suspension workouts.
From the ground, Vinson’s harness wasn’t visible and some thought he needed help. Longmont dispatchers fielded a media phone call and four 911 calls.
Vinson and his business partner told The (Longmont) Times-Call that they thought people on the ground were cheering them ( ).
