The Broncos’ 34-31 overtime loss to the Patriots registered a 70.9 audience share in the Denver area Sunday night — lower than the 75.2 share reported by Nielsen for the Broncos’ Nov. 17 game against the Chiefs.

But the audience share, on KUSA-Channel 9, moved to 80.5 at 10 p.m. when Sunday’s game was in overtime.

That share indicates that more than 80 percent of Denver-area households viewing television were watching the game’s final moments.

Nationally, NBC registered a 28 audience share for the entire game — two share points higher than the Broncos-Chiefs coverage.
