Aurora police are investigating an assault early Saturday in which several women attacked a man, cutting him with broken glass and beating him severely, police say.

“He was assaulted by a group of Hispanic women,” said Sgt. Chris Amsler, Aurora police spokesman.

The man was taken to a hospital for treatment of “non-emergency” injuries.

The name of the victim has not been released.

Aurora police were called at 3:26 a.m. to 1061 Emporia St. on a report of a stabbing.

The women involved in the assault fled before police arrived. The victim had been cut with broken glass and not a knife, Amsler said.

No arrests have been made, and the names of the suspects are not known.

Police are trying to determine why the attack happened and who was involved, Amsler said.
