CANON CITY, Colo.—About two dozen full-time Royal Gorge Bridge & Park employees have been laid off following a wildfire that destroyed buildings at the tourist attraction this summer.
According to the Canon City Daily Record ( ), half of the employees were informed of the news last week, and the other half found out Monday.
General manager Mike Bandera says some of the employees had been with the company for 20 to 30 years.
About 17 full-time employees will remain in their positions, including managers, supervisors and security officers while the facilities are being rebuilt.
