Interview with Mike Aguirre, proprietor
How did you get involved in this business?
Our family has been in the restaurant business since 1976, serving the Denver metro area and its surrounding cities.
What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
We are not your typical Mexican restaurant smothered in sombreros and zarapes. Our huge bar is the first thing to greet you, serving our famous margaritas, winner three years in a row for “best margarita” by the Metro North Chamber of Commerce. Also, our recipes are right out of mom’s kitchen. How’s that for authentic?
What do you like best about your line of work?
The fact that I am given the opportunity to meet different people and potential lifetime friends every day.
What is your business’ biggest challenge?
To set ourselves apart from the competition as the place to go for great customer service and recipes that keep you craving more.
Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
We do a major fundraiser for Children’s Hospital in the month of May. It consists of a toy run along with a car show and donation box. One hundred percent of all donations collected go directly to Children’s Hospital North Campus.
