The 40-year-old artist has signed with Columbia Records after a big 2013. Williams hit many top-10 lists thanks to his song “Get Lucky” with electro-gods Daft Punk and making the world’s first . The appropriately titled “Happy” will appear on Pharrell’s 2014 LP .
In his career, Williams has been nominated for a whopping seven Grammys (four for 2014) that span a wide range of categories like Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for the track “Blurred Lines” with Robin Thicke and “Get Lucky,” Producer of the Year and Record of the Year. He won Grammys in 2004 and 2007 for Best Pop Vocal Album for “Justified” with Justin Timberlake and Best Rap Song for “Money Maker” with Ludacris, respectively.
After nearly a decade participating in collaborations, it will be interesting to see how Williams fairs off on his own.
