A 17-year-old is in custody in connection with the death of another teen, Thornton police said.
to the 4200 block of East 100th Avenue on a report of a person who suffered a serious injury to his throat, according a Thornton Police Department media release.
Officers responding determined there was an “altercation between juveniles” at the location.
A juvenile male who suffered serious injury was taken to a local hospital where he died. Others involved in the fight had fled the scene before police arrived.
The 17-year-old in custody is a Thornton resident.
Police did not release names of the people involved or a motive in the case. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
