PUEBLO, Colo.—Colorado State University-Pueblo says it will likely cut 22 jobs rather than 50 as originally expected.
The Pueblo Chieftain reports ( ) CSU-Pueblo President Lesley Di Mare said Friday another 19 positions that are vacant will be eliminated.
Di Mare has said CSU System Chancellor Michael Martin directed her to cut $3.3 million from its budget.
In a news release, the school said flat enrollment and a decision not to raise tuition for the current academic year led to the projected deficit.
The school said the 22 jobs that will be cut include retirements, people with one-year appointments and administrators. Officials said no tenured or tenure-track faculty will lose their jobs.
Di Mare said faculty and staff helped develop a plan to balance the budget and thanked them in an email.
