
DUI in Edgewater. On Jan. 12, a 55-year-old Denver woman was arrested by Edgewater police on the 2200 block of Pierce Street for driving under the influence.
Shoplifting, heroin and warrants a bad combination. On Jan. 10, a 42-year-old resident of Clarkston, Mich., was arrested at Target, 1985 Sheridan Blvd., Edgewater, for shoplifting $210 of merchandise from the store. In addition, the suspect was arrested for possession of heroin, a warrant for failure to comply with probation conditions related to possession of a controlled substance, a warrant for failure to appear related to possession of a controlled substance and a warrant for an armed robbery which occurred in Michigan.
Stolen car found. On Jan. 10, a 1995 Saturn SL1 stolen from Denver was recovered in the parking lot at King Soopers, 1725 Sheridan Blvd., Edgewater.
Art supply shoplifting. Lakewood police responded to a shoplifting report Jan. 9 at Hobby Lobby, 7000 W. Alameda Ave. A woman was spotted by store security putting two packages of markers into her purse. The total cost of the stolen items was valued at $25.99. She was issued a summons.
Prostitution, clearly. A Lakewood officer arrested a woman Jan. 8 for solicitation of prostitution in the area of West Colfax Avenue and Harlan Street. The woman was observed walking down the street, paying close attention to oncoming traffic. A Jeep Cherokee pulled over next to her, and she got in the passenger side. The woman denied prostituting, but the driver said the woman was “very clear she was offering a sexual encounter.”
