One of two carjacking suspects was seriously injured early Tuesday morning when a car ran over him during the unsuccessful theft, according to Denver police.

The name of the suspect who was taken to a local hospital has not been released.

The second carjacking suspect fled and has not been caught, said Det. John White, Denver police spokesman.

The attempted car theft happened at 4435 W. Dakota Ave., according to a 6:35 a.m. tweet.

“It sounds like there was a an attempted carjacking,” White said. “During the process one of the suspects was run over by the car.”

The targeted car in the carjacking remains at the location of the collision, he said.
