Because, not to be outdone by all the other kitten- and puppy-related Super Bowl tie-ins, The Cat Care Society in Lakewood is offering an adoption special on its “First String” of tabbies. It’s only $48 to take one of these champs home with you, plus an anonymous donor is pledging to donate $100 to the shelter for every tabby adopted during the special. You also get a mini-catnip football, an orange bandana and extended vet care for the veteran/senior players. Adoption special lasts through Feb. 2 — and through Feb. 28 if the Broncos win.
