Calling all plover lovers

The Karval Community Alliance presents the celebrating the elusive bird that heads to Karval in April and makes itself at home in the shortgrass prairie through September. The two-day festival offers bird watching, tours, entertainment, an authentic Chuck Wagon dinner, arts and crafts and more, April 25-26. Karval is home to one of the largest nesting grounds for mountain plover in the U.S. Visitors may also see great horned owls, golden eagles, eastern screech owls, great blue herons, coyotes, pronghorns, swift foxes, antelope and deer.
