
Disturbance. On April 18, Edgewater police officers contacted a man at the police station who described a physical disturbance that had occurred earlier at a residence in the 2200 block of North Harlan Street. A 49-year-old woman was arrested for third-degree assault and domestic violence.
Sex offender arrested. On April 16, an Edgewater police officer responded to Burger King, 2601 Sheridan Blvd., regarding a suspect who might have an outstanding arrest warrant. The officer located a 24-year-old Lakewood man who was subsequently arrested for an outstanding $1,000 misdemeanor arrest warrant from Lakewood for failing to maintain current information as a sex offender.
Big knife. On April 11, a man was issued a summons for unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon at the Lakewood Public Safety Building, 445 S. Allison Parkway. The man walked into the building and placed a red bag onto the conveyer belt of the X-ray machine. A police officer observed on the monitor what looked like a large butcher knife inside the bag. The man, who appeared to be intoxicated, first said it was a pocket knife then claimed he used the knife to cut steak and forgot it was in the bag. “It was a mistake, I promise — I didn’t mean any harm,” the man said.
Port-A-Potty prostitution. A man and a woman were arrested April 9 for having sex inside a portable toilet at Aviation Park, 1900 Teller St., Lakewood. Police were watching the woman, a suspected prostitute, earlier in the evening and followed her to the park. The woman received $60 from the man.
