Ark Life signs to Denver’s Greater Than Collective, will release debut album this year

In just a year since its formation, Denver western-folk band has found a home for its debut album. The band has signed with local indie label , which will release Ark Life’s debut album this year,

Since forming in early 2013, the band has performed across the country and with such acts as the Head & the Heart, Of Montreal and with Kishi Bashi at Reverb’s SXSW party in Austin. In April of 2013 — about a month after forming — Ark Life recorded a session with popular studio and music discovery site Daytrotter.

Ark Life’s debut album, “The Dream of You & Me,” is due out on Aug. 19 on Greater Than Collective. The band will play at Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret on May 13 to celebrate the announcement.

Started by Pete Turner of Illegal Pete’s, Virgil Dickerson and Andy Thomas, Greater Than Collective is also home to local acts Ian Cooke, Esme Patterson, the Epilogues, A. Tom Collins and Adam Cayton-Holland.
