Unofficial results are in from the six-person race for three open board member seats at the Strasberg Fire Protection District 8.
Incumbent Donald Sherer lead with 125 votes. Robert Yaich received 97 votes and Matthew Reay got 85.Neither Yaich or Reay have served on the board in the past.
In total, 166 ballots were cast Tuesday.
Candidate Jerry Sir got 64 votes and Steve Gural had 56. Incumbent Curtis Duryea totaled 43 votes.
After the results are certified, Sherer, Yaich and Reay will be sworn in at 7 p.m. May 15 at 56281 E. Colfax Avenue.
, which spans into Adams and Arapahoe Counties. Board members will delve into finding finance options to create a firefighter academy for the rural district in the future.
