“She recorded her parts separately, so I don’t believe there was direct interaction,” the rep said, dashing hopes that anyone had of Cher hanging in the studio with RZA.

Nonetheless, the folks at Rolling Stone point out Cher’s appearance has been “hiding in plain site,” since early March. The songstress appears credited on the Wu-Tang website as a “special guest,” under the name Bonnie Jo Mason, Cher’s long noted pseudonym.

The legendary hip-hop crew announced last month that the outfit would be manufacturing one single copy of its latest album. The project was recorded in secret and will be sold to the highest bidder. In addition, the record will go on tour to museums and select art galleries. Until this news of Cher adding her vocals not much was known about the project.
