
The warming trend continues in Denver on Thursday, however, temperatures are expected to remain cooler than the seasonal average and precipitation is likely.
The National Weather Service said there’s a 60 percent chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms Thursday, mainly between noon and 3 p.m., and possibly a thunderstorm after 3 p.m.
The high temperature is expected to reach 66 degrees in Denver under partly sunny skies on Thursday. That’s about 6 degrees cooler than the seasonal average high for May 16. The record high for this date is 91 degrees set in 1996.
The chance for thunderstorms continues in Denver until 9 p.m., with a chance for showers overnight after that, the weather service said. The overnight low is expected to dip near 48 degrees.
On Saturday, there’s a 30 percent chance of showers, with a high near 68 degrees, the weather service said.
Sunday the high is expected to reach 80 degrees under mostly sunny skies.
