“They let all their coolness go and they just have fun,” Tyler the Creator says in Noisey’s mini documentary about the Denver music scene. We’re not sure if we should take that as a complement exactly, but other artists have better things to say in the short film, which debuted on Vice’s music site on Thursday.

Elephant 6’s tells Noisey about seeing the Fluid at Seven South back in the day, where he decided he wanted to be in a band.

Listing off a number of artists he recorded in Denver — Olivia Tremor Control, Apples in Stereo, Neutral Milk Hotel — Schneider plants the scene’s indie-cred early in the film.

It then moves onto an interview with Tennis during the band’s soundcheck before an opening spot for Haim at the Ogden Theatre.

“There’s this guy here who’s kind of been the cornerstone of the Denver music industry for us, his name is Nathaniel Rateliff,” Tennis’ Patrick Riley tells Noisey. “He was kind of like our mentor.”

Other interviews include Two Fresh, Big Gigantic, a brief cameo appearance from Air Dubai’s Michael Ray and more.

The consensus on Denver’s music scene: “It’s pretty diverse, and people like electronic music and jam music.”

Also, there’s a lot of hippy-bashing from Noisey’s Kim Taylor Bennett.
