The will make history this year by becoming the first charity fashion show to feature styles from the .

“This is a first for Carlisle,” says Littleton resident Tangy Buchanan, part of the company’s nationwide network of wardrobe consultants. “It’s a very big deal.”

Carlisle, founded in 1981, is based in New York City and sells its high-end clothing at seasonal trunk shows hosted by the consultants and at by-appointment showrooms in six cities, including Dallas, San Francisco and Chicago.

Plans for the 36th Brass Ring Luncheon were announced at a cocktail reception organized by Sharon Whiton Gelt and held at in Greenwood Village.

Chairwoman Lyn Schaffer announced that this benefit for the will be held Nov. 6 at the , with tickets available or by calling Susie Hummell at 303-628-5109.

Those attending the kickoff were treated to informal modeling of selections from Carlisle’s Fall 2014 collection and refreshments donated by , and .

Dalyla Creaghe, president of the sponsoring Guild of the Children’s Diabetes Foundation, donated the beer; floral arrangements were the gift of Dr. Michael Schaffer, and attorney Ted Gelt underwrote the cost of having two Greenwood Village police officers direct traffic outside the venue.

In addition to such longtime Brass Ring supporters as Gretchen Pope; Adrienne Ruston Fitzgibbons; Judy Chiodo and daughter Shelley Lucas; Sally Newcomb; Diana Docktor; Helen Hanks; Gail Johnson; Sharon Cooper, Judy McNeil and Sally Davidson-Marovich, the 100-plus guests included several who are new to the cause.

Liz Clarke, for example, was introducing Janice Wright, who recently relocated to Denver from Honolulu, where her husband, Chatt, spent , serving as its president from 1976-2011. Charlotte Mervin, the Marriott’s director of catering, was there with Karla Ninivaggi, whose husband, Bill, is the hotel’s new general manager. Prior to Denver, the Ninivaggis lived in Chicago.

Moses Brewer, who became interim president of the Urban League of Metropolitan Denver after retiring from MillerCoors, and his wife, Gwen, have been friends with Dalyla and Dr. Stephen Creaghe for years, dating back to when their grown daughters were members of what used to be the Denver Symphony Debs. The Brewers’ guests included Brenda and Dr. Elder Granger. Elder Granger is a and with his wife is cofounder of a company providing information technology solutions to commercial and government agencies.
