Re: “Another Denver deputy fired — this time for slapping inmate, lying,” July 30 news story.

What I don’t understand regarding the unquestionably criminal behavior of those rotten apples in the Denver Sheriff’s Department who are accused of beating up prisoners is why each has not been criminally charged. Had I (or anyone not in uniform) been suspected of assaulting others as apparently has been done at the Denver jail, I’d be in jail myself. Are the Denver police and Denver district attorney all on vacation?
