Formal charges were filed Thursday against a man and a woman connected to a shooting at the Boogie Down Bar in Denver.
The Denver district attorney’s office filed charges against 26-year-old Aaron Lopez. He faces multiple felony charges, including six counts of attempted first-degree murder, one count of first-degree assault, five counts of attempted first-degree assault and six counts of menacing, according to a news release from the district attorney’s office.
Brianna Ortiz, 25, faces two felony counts of being an accessory to a crime.
On Aug. 7, Lopez was arguing with patrons at the bar, located at Morrison Road and South Sheridan Boulevard. He allegedly pulled out a gun and pointed it at several customers.
As Lopez drove away from the bar, he allegedly handed the gun to a third person connected to the incident, Christopher Uvalle.
Uvalle, 22, allegedly fired several rounds at the bar from the car. One woman was hit, causing serious injuries to a hand.
Uvalle, who was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault and menacing, has not been formally charged.
Lopez and Ortiz have been booked into the Denver Detention Center, and bond has been set at $10,000 each. Ortiz’s advisement hearing has been scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Friday. Lopez’s next court date has not been set.
