Pueblo County Commissioner Sal Pace showed up at the Colorado State Fair legislative barbecue Friday night holding a Darth Vader mask and asking for his good friend, Rep. Frank McNulty.
Excuse me?
“You know, the tweets. Have you followed the tweets?” Pace said.
I hadn’t but McNulty howled when he saw the mask.

Pace, a Democrat, served as the House minority leader a portion of the time that McNulty, a Highlands Ranch Republican, served as speaker. The , a tradition that obviously still carries on.
The Darth Vader theme began when Alan Salazar, Democratic Gov. John Hickenlooper’s political director, and mentioned McNulty and the iconic “Star Wars” character in a tweet.
