I have yet to see Nathan MacKinnon in the flesh since he won the Calder Trophy in Las Vegas in July. But other hockey writers have, and they continue to post reports of the 18-year-old’s physical improvements. From Yahoo’s Nick Cotsonika comes this:
Nate MacKinnon said he put on 12 to 13 pounds of muscle this summer. He’s at 208 with the same 6- or 7-percent body fat.

The Denver media – and by extension, you – will get to see MacKinnon next Thursday when the players report for physicals and other testing, with training camp opening the following day.
