A high-profile case involving edible pot
Richard Kirk is accused of shooting and killing his wife Kristine on April 14 at their home in Denver’s Observatory Park neighborhood. In a 911 call, Kristine said Kirk had eaten marijuana candy and was acting in a way she and their sons had never seen before. A toxicology test later revealed that only a small amount of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, was in Kirk’s system that night. Tests also showed no traces of prescription drugs or alcohol.
