My wife and I just returned from two weeks in Germany. Driving their autobahns was so refreshing! Drivers there actually do keep to the right except to pass. You’ll see the edict to do so posted on signs here in Colorado, but few heed it. On a recent trip up Mount Vernon Canyon, I found the usual long line of cars camped out in the left lane, passing no one, forcing others to pass on the right.
Maybe we should approach licensing drivers the way Germany does — with much more thorough training, and at significantly greater cost to drivers. Perhaps then Colorado drivers would take driving halfway seriously.
