Showers in northeastern Colorado on Monday morning could give way to afternoon thunderstorms.
Scattered showers have peppered the Front Range and Denver early Monday, and thunderstorms are expected on the Eastern Plains during the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
Some storms could produce hail, winds to 50 mph, and brief downpours, the weather service said. The threat of flooding, however, is low.
The Denver forecast calls for showers Monday morning to give way to thunderstorms, likely after 1 p.m., the weather service said. Skies will be mostly cloudy with a high temperature of about 80 degrees and a 60 percent chance of precipitation.
Monday night in Denver there’s a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mostly before 10 p.m., and the overnight low will dip to about 53 degrees.
Tuesday in Denver will be mostly sunny with a high temperature near 84 degrees.
Northeastern Colorado should be dry and warm Wednesday and Thursday, with a return of showers and thunderstorms on Friday through Sunday.
